I really enjoyed watching the Who's Now that SportsCenter had a while back, and I wanted to make a version of who's now for the 2008 sports seasons. (Note) if a player made his success during a season that started in 2008, they are still eligible. I have a few athletes that I think are eligible, but I also want to get some ideas from everyone else, and then edit the post and make it into a tournament. The winner will be given the title of the Who Now Award (WNA).

The brackets have now been made for the first round, and I will post polls on the NFL message board. Here is the first round.

Tom Brady vs. Drew Brees

Usain Bolt vs. Michael Phelps

Rafael Nadal vs. Tiger Woods

Kevin Garnett vs. Paul Pierce

Big Brown and Jockey vs. Jimmie Johnson

Kobe Bryant vs. Lebron James

Cole Hamels vs. Dustin Pedroia

Peyton Manning vs. Ben Roethlisberger

And there you have it.

2008 Who's Now-Tell y Ur Fav Athlete should be it

Ok, to PatsFanXI, who thinks there so smart, I will prove you wrong. If you had read the original blog before I filled in the bracket, you would have seen that I said if the SEASON started in 2008, then they would still be eligible. Anyways, he helped lead the Steelers to the playoffs, and later the Superbowl.

The athletes i would put in would be:

  • Kobe Bryant: i know he is already on the list but u should add how he was the season mvp of 2008.
  • Chad Pennington: 2008 comeback player of the year in the NFL. He also was able to lead a Miami Dolphins team that was 1-15 a year ago to an astonishing 11-5 and a playoff berth. (the biggest one year turnaround by a team in NFL history)
  • Dustin Pedroria: 2008 season AL M.V.P. for major league baseball.
  • Big Brown: won the first 2 of the major races for horses and their jockey but didnt win the final one
  • Peyton Manning: 2008 m.v.p. for the NFL.
  • Albert Pujols: 2008 season NL M.V.P. for major league baseball.

2008 Who's Now-Tell y Ur Fav Athlete should be it

You have already put a 2009 event with Ben Rothlisberger being the winning superbowl quarterback. The winning superbowl quarterback of 2008 (and superbowl XLII mvp) would be Eli Manning.

I can't put Robinson because I'm talking about 2008.

How about Nate Robinson for winning the dunk contest? Also, I'd put Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen up there. Also need Lebron and Kobe, as there the two best in the NBA.

There is probably a Tampa Bay Ray player who should be there, and probably Dwight Howard for 2008's slam dunk contest. Remember this is based off 2008, not 2009.
